Defining the Allure of Multimedia Works

While it is true that a special breed of intellectuals can greatly appreciate the intricate delicacies offered by multimedia there is a relationship established between the artists and the viewer that is hard to articulate. Upon close examination however, it is not difficult to ascertain the wondrous captivation that multimedia creations have with appreciative audiences. All things considered, it is really a no-brainer. First, you are taking the most pivotal and emotional aspects of well respected disciplines and adding them together.  It is akin to finding a wonderful clothing ensemble all in one place just in time for an important event.  Everything joins to create a wondrous joyous whole.  Likewise, multimedia art engages the primary senses of sight and sound.  The mind is also employed, especially if literature accompanies the art, guaranteeing a complete experience. Cleverly placed components can also jar these senses, forcing watchers to face the concepts the artists are displaying.

Even when the ideologies are lighthearted, multimedia art can touch the hearts of the masses, especially in times of national distress.  Those who have said that laughter is the best medicine truly understand the power of a multimedia exhibit that is designed to amuse or simply entertain. All these things aside, the biggest thing that multimedia art brings to the table is the ability to combine elements of creation together in a masterful and precise way.  When done well, this mixed art presentation can be especially fascinating, leaving a lasting impression on aficionados who live for these unique and specialized types of showings. In a world that is continuously suppressing the purest forms of craftsmanship, the last refuge for art could possibly be found within the multimedia trenches.  Perhaps it is this knowledge that also excites and titillates art lovers, who thirst for what remains of true expression.  In fact, when all is said and done, multimedia artists will perhaps pave the way back to a place where skilled creation was indulged for the pure joy of the exercise. And this perhaps leads us to the biggest reason why multimedia art will forever entrance audiences.   Multimedia work always comes from a real place, striking a chord within those seeking a sliver of emotional reality in a time when that commodity is in short supply.

Another brilliant masterpiece from ylotana. The good thing about multimedia arts is that they not only allure audiences but it also become a resource that can freshen up our stagings of modern experience. I love theatre arts and it drives me to appreciate more about multimedia works. In my perception, the evolving technology will continue to set to influence mainstream theatre in years to come.

Alas! A new post that simply puts a smile on my face. Seriously though, using of advanced technological means, such as electronic or computer-generated sound, video, animation, and interactivity, will certainly draw more people to value multimedia arts. I'm hoping that there will be more aspiring artists who will use a wide range of media to communicate their art.

This is definitely true. Because of the fast-growing introduction of multimedia works, I learn to admire animation, which really inspires adults and children alike. The rhetorics of film, of video and computer games provides art awareness. My little cousin is into arts and he said that he will become an artist someday and will be one the contributors for animation and filmmaking.

Totally interesting topic. I'm always in awe when I watch movies with great visual and sound effects. I marvel those kinds of artists that are really above genius in creating such amazing things. Although they are not the frontliners as they are always backstage, they deserve the gratitude and recognition of how amazing they are in the world of multimedia arts.

Just two words: Astonishing Blog. You guys have no idea how this topic means to me. I'm a fan of multimedia works and everytime I see those works, it pierce through my art. What a talented artists who puts so much effort and passion in their craft. Their multimedia artwork move, occupy time, or develop over a span of time, instead of remaining static.

Lovely. The relationship between art and technology is very important when creating multimedia works. New technology is said to be transforming traditional theatre models by breaking down barriers. Take it from animation, it usually does not require performers. Thus, the future promises virtual models that will greatly intensify spectator involvement and open new experimental avenues.

Indeed, the creator of a multimedia work of art is typically someone with a formal background in visual art. In the world of art history, image is everything. As a result, art history springs to life with multimedia, that is why I think multimedia works are important. It give benefits not only to the creators but also to the audiences.

I remember a story about my art teacher who is known for filming his own personal journey to beautiful places. Equipped with an old still camera and Hi8-format video camera, he captured a unique firsthand perspective that simply could not be duplicated through generic art history source. The footage came into meaningful video clips and still images that could be integrated with other artwork.

I really enjoyed the imagery in this blog post and it sums up the multimedia experience perfectly, or at least for me. I love having all my senses titillated via artistic forums and I pray that bands like Ylotana pave the way for others like them.

for me the allure of multimedia art is not that it has several different voices, but how effectively the voices blend. It's like a microcosm of what mankind can accomplish if we use our inherent differences to enlighten and engage as oppose to divide us.

I really like this new blog post as it has me thinking about some of my favorite multimedia pieces and artists. What strikes me is the balancing act that one has to do to make the work flow seamlessly. That takes a talent in and of itself, especially since artists can have egos that can get in the way of the process -- somehow we can still manage to make it all work.

Hi, multimedia arts are really fascinating and people will expect more wondrous stuff to happen as technology continues to evolve and update. One fine example is creating colorful and high-tech websites. These are the product of multimedia works that allures people and the effect that it brings to the modern world. Ylotana's website is a living proof of multimedia works.

It's easy for people to take a glance of multimedia works but they don't notice how hard it is to create one. Let's admit that it takes time to start a concept and the round-breaking aspects of undertaking to create a multimedia work are more than just technological; much as the technology is growing by leaps and bounds in response to the needs of creators and consumers.

Acting is something that I love to do and with this multimedia arts, it influences me to utilize my talent to the next level. This form of medium is made to provide a place where inspiring artists can develop and refine their skills and where newcomers to the industry can find safe, economical and effective training. It builds confidence, self-respect and motivation.

28

I have read all the comments and concur. There is something about multimedia that transcends all other artistic genres. Can't rightly put my finger on it. Suffice it to say, the artists who come together to collaborative on something like that are truly inspired souls.

Hey all! This is my first time posting here but I have visited the site many times. I really like the blogs but felt compelled to post because I am a big fan of multimedia art myself. It moves me in ways I cannot describe--could be why I am getting more and more into Ylotana's vibe!

28

May

Shana's twin

How can you not get into Ylotana's grooves--they are infectious. I've gotten to where I listen to the sample loops over and over again on my work computer. Quite a few times people have peeked over my shoulder and asked me what I am listening to! I tell them the next big hitmeisters! LOL

28

May

Bradley Effect

I would love to see what one of Ylotana's shows would be like. There would be so much to do and see--and I'd really like to feel and hear the ambient sounds live. Hurry up with the world tour already!

28

I have never been to a real life multimedia presentation. I have always admired the works from afar via the internet or art shows on TV. I would greatly enjoy seeing something like that in person however, so I guess I should add that to my list of things to do before I die...

I can't imagine how the mind of multimedia artists work in composing such wonderful and amazing creations. I believe Leonardo Da Vinci has something to do with the multimedia. He is truly an influence and inspiration to some artists that they are encourage to enjoy making multimedia arts of all kinds and becomes constantly curious and creative.

29

May

Thanks Ylotana. I love interesting threads like this. Well, there are a lot of potential multimedia artists out there who are struggling to show their craft to the public and make it known. People in higher places should pay attention to these talented individuals because they are the ones who will touch peoples' lives.

Fruedian Slip

I always liken the appreciation of multimedia work to that of appreciation a fine cigar or a glass of rare wine. It is not something for everyone but those who partake know how exquisite and sublime these creations are.

30

May

Black Katt

I really like multimedia that takes old used things and incorporates them in a way that makes them brand new. Scraps of paper, trash items, broken glass--there's something very magical about that process. Like, how do you look at something that others perceive as junk and make it into something beautiful? Tremendous!

30

May

Dah Skeptic

I forgot who said it, but there was once a great artist who said that when he looked at a piece of marble he could see the sculpture within. I think when multimedia artists collaborate they put this concept together as a collective.

30

May

Butterfly

That may explain why the work seems to flow together so seamlessly. Ylotana is a good example--the music art and writing all seem to go together like a well put together outfit. Does this happen by accident? I doubt it.

I agree with the sentiments of this article. I grew up watching different artworks from different artists and I feel that there was a huge transformation of art, especially now that the world is filled with so much technology, I can only imagine the effect of it when it comes to multimedia arts. Well, we need to embrace the change... and the future.

Multimedia arts is more inventive and innovative now than ever before that's why it seems to me that a lot of people will continue to appreciate arts due to artists' wildest and out-of-this-world imaginations. I believe that we ain't seen nothing yet. People will be able to encounter multimedia developments in years to come.

01

June

What I have been enjoying reading from this post is the way it explains the essence of Multimedia and how it can mesmerize a human's eyes. These kind of art mediums are exceptional. It's amazing that the artists are not afraid to mix and match elements in order to create a wonderful piece of work. Good job, Ylotana! This is another milestone.

02

June

Aphrodite_gee

Amen to that. Many artists describe multimedia art as an attempt to increase the experience for the viewer and it's definitely true. These multimedia artworks encourage interactivity and immersion through the integration of different media. Perhaps, technology has something to do with it paving the way to use of several different media to convey information.

02

June

As multimedia art lover myself, I always believe that it strengthens a person's insight, informs one's decisions and generate actions that improve circumstances for communities and individuals. I often sleep late at night because I spent most of my time doing some digital paintings, drawings and fragments of everyday objects or video and computer images. I also enjoyed watching others' masterpiece.

02

June

Isaac_john

I must say that since the introduction of new media technologies, the world is changed the way society produces and consumes art, highlighting our changing culture and it's dependence on technology. Although I don't have problems with the evolution of multimedia art, people mostly relies on the use of technology to replicate and create images.

02

June

savagegarden

You made your point, Isaac. However, the good thing about multimedia works is that viewers will no longer have to travel to their nearest art gallery to view a famous painting as many art galleries now have websites exhibiting their artworks online. Thus, we give credit to the internet as it has opened up a new way to view and appreciate art.

02

June

flint

We'll never know what the future of multimedia works will bring, but I expect but it will really blow me away as there have been great advancements in technology and its implementation into the art of this decade. Artists continually invent new ways to integrate our advancing technologies into their pieces.

02

June

Constantine

Right. Scary thought there, flint. There is no telling where the future of the multimedia works will take us. As society changes it will be reflected in the work of our artists, as the development of new media has impacted on our society so art reflects this and hence is important to our way of life.

05

June

The Aviator

I like the concept of the mystery of where multimedia will go. I hate how sometimes we get stuck in an idea and beat it to death nowadays. At least art is the one place where people keep pushing the envelope. even if the work is outlandish at least it is trying to say something new, which is what some people who cannot appreciate multimedia do not get.

05

June

Valerie

OMG! I so agree! All the other creative disciplines are losing the ability to be innovative. That is what happens when corporate greed gets into the mix I suppose.

05

June

Merman

Issac--I think any way we create art is a good way to do it. Whether it is on a computer--or with a pen--it still comes from the mind of the artist using the medium...

05

June

Diabolical Pixie

I know that there are some people who frown on the use of computer graphics though. Purist often get upset because they think art is being taken over by technology. But I have seen some wonderful art produced with computers-and it takes a lot of skill and training to do it. I think you have to have a creative soul to do it too. Different artists just use different kinds of brushes.

06

June

Molly

the possibilities are endless with computer graphics and multimedia. Like, you can print out adobe made images and then attach them to any number of backdrops. I also like Ylotana's idea of uploading fantastic contemporay and comic book art and setting it to music via a video too...

06

June

Verbatim

I like innovative ideas too. I don't knwo who said it before, but I am excited about what the future holds too. What if we could use something like lasers to create intricate works of art on the spot--and the lasers made music too--know what I mean? That woudl be incredible...

06

June

MiSS_Anthropy

Verbatim -- I like the way you think. That really has me wanting to get back to my charcoals and inks and start sketching futuristic art sows. The possibilities are endless.

06

June

Vyxen

Do you think the music scene would take a cue from the multimedia art world and become a little bit more imaginative as well? I mean, dare to dream! I hope it gets some musical genius out there thinking. Well, we all know Ylotana is doing that already--but they can make others do the same--start a movement! The Ylotana movement!

06

June

MiSS_Anthropy

I would definitely stand behind that! Viva la revolution! ;-)

07

June

Flying Monkeys

I too am all for a revolution in all the realms. I love the arts but have not felt challenged or titillated for a long time. I do not know on whose shoulders the blame lies but I will say that bands like Ylotana offer a fresh new alternative and I hope others will take their lead.

07

June

The Dust Bunny

I look at multimedia art as a pizza with all the works. You combine all the best flavors in the world onto one pie or something that is both delicious and nutritious. Multimedia takes all that is wonderful and unique about art and gives you something dynamic new and cutting edge--what is not to like?

07

June

Amy

I must use that pizza with all the fixin's analogy when I talk to my friend about multimedia artwork in the future. It is a good description and a fun one to boot!

07

June

The Dust Bunny

I stayed up all night coming up with that one -- lol...I am so kidding. Yes, I am passionate about multimedia art, but right now I am just an appreciator. I do hope to one day experiment with a few creations of my own.

07

June

Geranimo

You really should. People with a love of art tend to be very good at conveying their thoughts. Multimedia also gives you a lot of avenues to explore so you will be able to find the best fit for your personality and voice.

07

June

Thanks for the encouragement Geranimo, I will certainly try!

Hey gang! Just wanted to drop in on the conversation, especially since it seems so lively! I feel most of what I could say about multimedia arts has been said, so I can say I concur. The beauty of such works cannot be overstated--we definitely need to make sure this expression continues for years to come.

09

June

Laureli

Hi Nebula and welcome. Yes, there is a lovely group here, all thanks to Ylotana! This band is just amazing and just draws an wonderful crowd of fans--you should really peruse the site a bit!

09

June

Nebula 1

Oh, I have which is why I am here. I was more than a little taken with the artwork and the music. I'd love to see how they woudl pull off a live show.

09

June

Glass Chalice

I know--me too. I bet it would be fantastic! I would so bring a bunch of my friends, especially those who are unfamiliar with multimedia artwork. Word of mouth could really getting the ball rolling for the Ylotana crew! Lets do it!

12

June

Laureli

I am thinking about visiting the Costa del Sol for a yoga retreat and is so want to bring my brushes. This blog just inspires me to want to create and take it to the next level. If I created a painting I could write a poem, frame it and put the poem somewhere on the frame Not sure--but I do want to make it a multimedia piece.

12

June

Art Mave

I know--I too have becoem a bit more inspired all thanks to Ylotana here. Th music really puts me in a creative mind set and I get fired up reading the blogs. For my multimedia piece I am thinking clay sculpture with beads and clothe...we shall see...

12

June

Minerva

That sounds really nice. Laureli I envy you getting to go to Spain. I went once and it was wonderful. And you will get tons for ideas for multimedia pieces just going to the beach. Oh you will love it!

12

June

The Mastiff

Yes it does sound great--you must take pictures. Speaking of pictures--I saw a multimedia art show the other day where the Person used photography that he browned with like a tar like substance and used old drift wood for framing--it was magnificent.

12

June

Laureli

Minerva, thanks for the advice, I will certainly check out the beaches. mastiff, that art show sounded great. I have been so busy I haven't had the change to really go to any shows. I plan to before I go because, as the title says, there is something magical about this type of art and I do miss enjoying it.

13

June

Aurora

What an absolutely beautiful and wonderful piece. All I can say is that I know the person who wrote this truly believes their words. It also gives food for thought. So often we simply take things in and never dissect why, when knowing the "why" can make the experience even more profound.

13

June

Minerva

I don't know. Sometimes it is good just to take something in. Part of the allure of the multimedia works could be the mystery. Do I really need to know why I like the taste of oranges to enjoy them?

13

June

Aurora

You do make a point. It could really depend on the person. Some people like to simply quietly take in the scene while others feel connected to it by actively describing what they see...

05

In these days Multimedia Works are getting more importance, and it's a good innovative idea, I like it a lot. I wold like to do the same.
